We no longer live in a society, we live in an economy where right and wrong is determined not by fairness, but by profitability – and where the law no longer dictates corporate behavior, but corporate behavior dictates the law.
For the passed 25 years of fighting for Animal Rights 100%. I have found that you can get a 5% return on all your efforts. Most people live by the concept of "Out of sight out of mind". And the majority of people I have talked to in all these years truly feel Animals raised for food are not considered real animals, that that is what they are here for.
I have learn to live by this:
If anger wells up within you, because people are the problem, remember your humanity and that people are also the solution.
Direct Action - Hit them in their pocket book!
Lobby - Make Animal Right a part of progressive politics.
Teach - Jainism (Compassion for ALL living things.)
I believe the only way any of us will survive in this world is if enough people care.!

Follow the money to the most horrific acts of torture - animal, human, planet. Globally, where investments are made/at stake, you may be sure that profits rule the day regardless of the tortures left in their wake. The only way to stop global torture is to cut off it's source - money. Do some homework. Buy shares collectively in offending corporations. Attend their shareholder meetings. Come equipped with shareholder resolutions. Find out exactly which corporations drive these horrors with their investments ... then expose them. Be creative!
p.s. for those fortunate enough to have investments or retirement/401K plans, don't forget to delve into just exactly what your plans invest in. Many corporations can't tell you what your money is invested in before profits/losses are realized because they use outsourced companies. They simply do not know. If you can't get a straight answer, assume it's not good. Do your homework. Move your money into beneficial investments. There are many, and they are growing in the midst of this mess.
Most individuals do not knowingly take part in the evil that their money is creating. It's time we all make it our business to KNOW.

Begin in your homes, your neighborhoods, your schools, heck even in the prisons! Animal abuses need to be exposed and prosecuted to the highest extent. These people are callous and seemingly ignorant of the abuses they inflict. Start with your children or any children you are around. Talk about these issues. Teach others how to treat animals well and explain why they deserve a good life just as much as we humans do. Do not tolerate an ounce of animal abuse in your home (and yes, letting your child hit, kick, pull on tails and tease is abuse) or in homes you are in.
I know this may seem like a slight suggestion to this gigantic issue with so many atrocities happening, but along with criminal prosecution, we must also change something in the minds of these creeps. It was the cardinal rule in my childhood home to treat all animals with care, respect and most of all, absolute love and compassion and it is not because it was "forced" on me, I believe it is because I came to understand that they are feeling beings as well, just like me, who hurt when abused, who feel and care and most of all who LOVE!

Keep in touch with the National Anti-Vivisection Society --
http://www.navs.org/site/PageServer?pagename=index -- for up-to-date, carefully researched reports on commercial entities who abuse and kill animals. They have a pocket guide for shopping. Boycotts work if we can get them to a high level.
Put pressure on the President and Congress to reconsider policies toward animal welfare, especially in regard to such matters as aerial massacres of wolves and polar bears. The European Union just banned animal testing throughout all their countries; Russia has stopped killing baby seals. We need to be in league with enlightened nations and to work with nations that need to change policies.
Education: Animal life, habitat and environment needs to be taught in all schools, K-12, and on the college level.
We need to encourage coalition and cooperation among animal groups, local, state, national and international.
Regularly email and write to CEO's of companies involved with animal testing, torture and killing. One of the points I make: "Please, we must reconsider ALL killing, not just humans killing humans but all the killing. The planet, the web of life, is more fragile, more precious and more interconnected than we have ever known."

that is one of the most disturbing things i have ever seen. why do people want to do this to animals. In the video they kill animals while they are alive. if they have to kill it why cant they give it a peaceful death then do what they have to do or better yet not do it at all.

Spread the word that this labeling already exists! It is called the vegan label, ususally a large "V", which denotes an item that is 100% free of cruelly obtained animal products. However, since this labeling is currently entirely voluntary, government encouragement for more explicit and comprehensive labeling would benefit us all

We must remember, many animals would not exist were they were not raised for food. Those that are domesticated as pets must then be pets, not some form of life to ignore or abuse.

What Should Be An Easy Choice The Food choices we have in this day are so insane. The casual murder we allow is inhumane. Our dollar can apparently go a lot further at Mc D’s. But our economy has much larger fees. We farm chickens in confinement as they age, But an awful system is what we really raise. Our world becomes more developed each day, And we continue to look the other way. New Knowledge provides us with many other options, But people are not willing to make this adoption. You have the chance to decrease the merciless killing, You can stand up, or remain unwilling.
