    One step in the right direction would be to call your Representatives and the members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and ask them to support H.R. 778. This bill would repeal the current ban on raw milk and raw milk products for human consumption in interstate commerce. To be successful this bill needs co-sponsors. The status of the bill can be tracked on the internet by entering "HR 778" in the Search field at www.thomas.gov; be sure to select "Bill Number" instead of "Word/Phrase".

    In Colorado it is illegal to sell raw goats milk or cows milk..How ever it is legal to buy goat/cows shares.  We own our own goats we raise them, use them for milk for our own family, and now I am in the process of getting set up to be licensed to sell shares, so I can sell to the public. I have a friend that I have just started buying raw cows milk shares from. So why Can't the state just make it legal for us to sell directly??? I think it should be a personal choice to decide whether or not to buy raw or pasturized and that the Government should stay out!!! I am sending this information to all of my friends to get them to voice their opinions.

    We live in a free country and are guaranteed several human rights as a result.  Why then can the government tell me what milk I can drink? The thought is simply preposterous.  I can freely worship, protect my property, and speak my mind among many other freedoms.  Yet, if I try to obtain raw milk in my home state of West Virginia I am a criminal.  The US government allows several known carcinogens into the food supply, it allows the use of dangerous chemicals in food production as well.  People have the right to choose these foods or to choose healthier foods.  Clearly the government is not always motivated by the best interest of its people, for if it was I would have consumer freedom and be able to obtain whatever milk I choose, legally.  At the very least the legalization of raw milk will open several markets in the United States and allow private citizens to bring us out of economic hardship through their own entrepreneurship, not government bailouts.

      Regulatory reform (natural old time methods), and ancient agricultural crop plant species (Hemp) are defacto banned.  Scrutinized far above and beyond any approved poison, herbicide, pesticide, food additive, or genetically combined frankenfoods, all without even requireing informinative (GMO) labeling! Only a corrupt and uncaring agency could blindly endanger public health approving chemicals with no statistically significant efficacy over placebo, while at the same time banning fresh milk and interminably forbiding Hemp (hemp is safer than most of the foods Americans eat every day), PLUS hemp seed oil and flour is VERY nutritious for humans! PLUS Hemp has over 300 active compounds, many unique to hemp flowers, which are proving efficacious, (means help or cure) against; cancer, parkinsons, epilepsy, addiction, etcetera..

    Raw milk was available in California quite a few years ago and was fantastic regarding flavor and an energy builder. It should be made available under clean standards of the producer. If people don't want to use it, then don't but those that want it should have access to this amazing food.

    If you don't like raw milk, don't buy it. I find it absurd that soda, candy, and fast food are the easiest items to obtain while real, health promoting foods require considerably more effort and money.  I also find it absurd that instead of making companies utilize healthier/cleaner methods, the government just has them pasturize and irradiate the food. Isn't it sad that poptards are promoted as an actual BREAKFAST while a person has to jump through hoops and take it up the you-know-where to get REAL food on the table?

    Medical Truth available about milk/dairy and its causation of all plaque caused illness...Alzeheimers, Parkinsons, MS, dental, heart/vein, Diabetes I,II,III...and more. Nano bacteria are encased in plaque causing all the above. Easy 3 step medical protacol can stop, heal, reverse all of them.
    1. Oral chelation-gets rid of the plaque "cement"
    2. Enzymes (high quality)-remove the "rebar"
    3. Anti-biotic- kills the bacteria
       * Far better to use natural antibiotic of oregano than     tetracycline
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    All flesh food causes illness...see The China Study
                                        ...see the R.A.V.E. Diet
    For healing, we need to transition into a vegetarian diet, a vegan diet, a macro biotic diet, culminating in a raw-food lifestyle.
    Start your day with a Green Smoothy. Cheers!
    Government causes ecoli scare, salmonella scare to move on in and irradiate food
    This is a topic that keeps coming up, similar to creationism, in that there is a lot of rhetoric but no science.  There are too many cases where raw milk has been responsible for sickness and death in humans to allow it to be sold.  Mr. Rutledge has no idea what bacteria are in his milk because most of them come from the environment, not his cows.
    Furthermore, he has no idea what chronic diseases his cows have.  Johne's disease is present on more than half the dairy herds surveyed across the country, but few of the farmers were aware of it because usually there are no obvious signs.  The same goes for salmonellosis.  Listeriosis is a bacteria associated with silage that no farmer can be sure is not present.  It causes deaths and abortions in pregnant women.  Read the literature of the outbreaks of human disease caused by drinking raw milk before signing onto this just terrible idea.
    ALREADY COVERED UNDER:Health Freedom IS Our First Freedom idea.
    I love raw (grass-fed) milk. It helped me when nothing else would and made me healthier overall.
    But this is already covered under one of the top 10 ideas "Health Freedom IS Our First Freedom" and belongs under that banner.
    It lists specifically: "Access to raw milk, bitter almonds and other health aides Irradiation-free foods"
    No other whole or raw/whole food should be banned or mandated with treatments such as radiation either. As long as it's labeled clearly the consumer should be the one to make the choice.  Let the free market be free when it comes to making food choice decisions.
    I love milk and cheese.  I used to drink generic brand milk regularly, andwould sometimes feel a need to drink upwards of half a gallon a day, especially in hot weather.  And most cheeses I've tried are delicious, but they bind me up.
    Then, after moving to Arizona, I discovered raw dairy.  I did the research, found the benefits claimed, and finally tried it about eight months ago.  I've been consuming raw dairy ever since.
    My sinuses are clearing up, my skin is clearing up, it's less oily than it was, my energy levels are improving, my periods of feeling ill are decreasing.
    Why is this?  Simply because raw dairy from healthy, free-range, grass-fed cows is loaded with immune-boosting antibodies and nutrients that are killed in the pasteurization process.
    And I don't get the cravings any more, either!
