In order for elementary teachers to teach Esperanto to their students, they first should learn it themselves. They can do this on the internet at http://www.lernu.net or http://www.icxlm.org. They can also learn it from local Esperantists in many cities. To get help, contact Ron Glossop, Pres., American Assn. of Teachers of Esperanto, at rglossop@mindspring.com.

Lerning Esperanto cannot help you win power and get a lot of money, but it helps you open a window to observe the world and make friends all over the world since Esperanto is used by a small number of people, but they are distributed in all countries and most of the cities, especially the big and middle-sized cities, If you are an idealist, you will attain your goal just in a short time. If you are a utilitarian don't try to lern Esperanto or you'll be dissapointed and then you may speak ill of this language.

If there is not enough Esperanto teachers for schools in USA, teachers from other countries can come for a while : the purpose is to give almost one Esperanto teacher for each school. I am french, in France, and I am volunteer !

About time! Esperanto is spoken a few million in this world, and it cuts across all cultures. It should be included in schools.

I've been learning Esperanto for about 2 months. In my experience two months of Esperanto learning on my own is about equal to one year of German study in a classroom. I plan to study Spanish next to see if my Esperanto accually helps me learn another language.

Adopting this proposal would certainly strongly boost other countries to mimic USA (which example they usually follow ten years later). Thus, they would be improving their children's ability to learn exotic languages, such as the English one. Such an idea might please US citizens.
