I suggest that part of this proposal should be the appointment of a White House Farmer, to create the Victory Garden on the White House grounds.

I was thinking we could call them "Security Gardens" this time around... as in, food security and national security, since growing more of our own food on a local level will promote both. But Victory Gardens 2.0 is good too:). Let's do it!

Check the archves of WAMU -The Kojo Nemdi show- He had a Master Gardener on who was resposible for redoing the lawn at the Mall using organic gardening techniques and he spoke about this very idea!!
