Getting together as a whole is the most important thing! We as bully lovers need to make "haters" see the love a bully can bring as well as the truth about b.s.l.! B.s.l. isn't anything more than race discrimination, and we don't let that happen so why should we sit idly by and let them discriminate against our beloved pets? The sad truth is that b.s.l. comes from ignorance and uneducation. According to the American Canine Temperment Testing Association, pitbulls pass their temperment test at a rate of 82.5% versus an average rate of 77%. Out of 122 breeds tested, pit bulls have the fourth highest pass rate, so tell me how this makes them the vicious killers the media makes them out to be. Whenever we come across a statistic like this we need to post it anywhere and everywhere we can to get the real TRUTH out about our dogs!!!!!

As long as ignorance rules the media highway to the politicians desk, there will be BSL.
WE ALL must make a concerted effort to get out there, educate and help pay for the fight against BSL.Merely writng letters pleading for sympathy and understanding, one must fight for their dogs as they would fight for your safety.
Before you donate, ask the organization what cases they have taken on inside the courts, ask them if they are paying out salaries........there are many groups that have taken laws to court,no one gets paid a cent and the Dog Legislation is one of them.
In Canada a province more than twice the size of Texas,Ontario has banned 3 pure bred breeds of dogs in hopes to define what is a mixed breed ,the "pit bull".4000 plus dogs are dead and countless families ripped apart all because of bad owners. And yet still there are more attacks and even deaths inside this province since implemented. No one is safer.
As we know one cannot identify a bad owner by what is at the end of their leash nor can one rest in the knowledge that they provided for public safety by killing innocent animals.
Despite statements to the difference, banning breeds does nothing to stop injuries by dog.Laws cannot make bad owners good ones.
It is time to take back the leash and tell governement we are no longer willing to let them continue to punish innocent dogs and owners.

Ban known gangbangers from owning dogs in general, Pit bulls in particular, instead of BSL, make neutering and spaying of all Pit bulls mandatory. Make hosting or attending dog fighting a felony with mandatory jail time, face reality, Also give time for the people that are housing the dogs and state that they are caring for the animals or just allowing for them to be kept there. Also once a person has been identified for attending, participating or hosting a dog fight they should be banned from owning dogs or living with someone that has at least dogs known for using for dog fights. BSL does not stop the problem....When Pit bulls are outlawed, Only Outlaws will own Pit-bulls

All of us who know and love the APBT. or any other breed that is subject to bsl (bull shit legislation) need to come together and do all we can to put an end to it. bsl. has already gone to far lets unite and stop it before it is to late.

When we as a people discuss progress in terms of breaking down old dogmas and stereotypes, we must also remember that it extends to all areas of life. We must remember that as a Nation, we cannot achieve true change if one area of life continues to perpetrate ignorance and intolerance. Thus said, all policy, including that which affects animals, must be reflect and adopt a more educated and less prejudicial stance.
Policy makers must abolish BSL to eradicate the inhumane treatment innocent animals are receiving, and rather provide consequence to those that place "bullies" in torturous conditions (i.e. dog fighting, neglect, abandonment). In addition, as dog fighting is a multi-million dollar industry in the US alone, policy makers must realize that placing the burden on the animal is allowing those that willingly mistreat animals a hand-up. Policy makers must also realize that to achieve progression, we can no longer allow fear based media to shape our policies, but rather sound judgement. For to long, profits, power, and popularity have been made at the sake of the misfortune and injustice of a life and as a responsible nation, we must end this trend.
I trust that our new leadership will have the insight into how this seemingly simple and commonsensical decision, to end the mistreatment of these animals, can assist achieve the goal to real change. I trust that our new leadership will have the courage to not feed our "fear based" media, and make maybe an "unpopular" but necessary and just decision.

Pit Bulls kill people.
You can whine all you want, but that is a fact. Other dogs may bite, but Pit Bulls go for the kill. I love dogs, but over the years I've seen many sweet, loveable family dogs turn vicious when in a pack (two or more dogs is a pack) and their owners aren't watching and go tear up other pets. Then they trot home and are all sweet again.
How nice they are when you're home is not the issue. And it's usually aggressive people that buy Pit Bulls in the first place, compounding the issue! I believe only dogs that try to kill a person should be put down, and the owner punished as well. The owners of aggressive animals are doubly to blame because animals pick up aggression from other animals around them, including people.
I also believe all Pit Bulls should be spayed or neutered. Americans had many other favorite dogs before the Pit Bull came around - why can't we go back to those?

PLEASE!! Don't take our Pitties away!!! Discrimination is an ugly word in anyway that it's used but to use against something that can't speak for itself is a disgrace to us as humans. I am a dog groomer and see all breeds on a daily basis....it's not the dogs or one specific breed that is the danger. Pet owners themselves can be the most vicious by not taking care of what they chose to take home. How people treat their pets should be of greater concern then how certain breeds should be destroyed. Not but just 15 years ago the A.P.B.T. was America's hero now misunderstanding and ignorance has turned to most feared. Would you fear my pits if your life needed saving??? They only know how to love and please, fear and viciousness comes from those that teach it....that is who needs to be banned. God Bless A.P.B.T.'s!!!

MAKE DOG FIGHTING A FELONY NOT DOG OWNING.
My pitt bull is 125lbs of pure mush. I have my friends 2 small children come over and play with him. He acually lets them ride him, pull on his ears, pull on his tail. He is just a big lovable mush. I rescued him from one of those "undeserible" owners that planned to fight him. Besides not being the brightest bulb in the bunch I couldent ask for a more loving, loyal, good looking dog.
This breed has been persicuted much as rottweilers and dobermans once were. Its time to start punising irresponcible owners to the full extent of the law. If people treated people like they treated their "pets" they would get decades behind bars.
