We cannot allow a culture of impunity to take root in the USA. It would destroy our democracy, the effectiveness of our government and loyalty to our country. Every country in which the leaders are above the law is a mess. This issue is just as important in the long run as the recovery of our economy from deep recession. I totally agree that we need a politically independent prosecutor to lead the investigation and to file charges where justified. In addition, we need a Constitutional amendment which curbs the President's power to pardon or commute the sentence of someone who has committed a crime while an employee, political ally, financial supporter or advocate of that President or of his Party.

It is too early and not secure for the entire nation to make public the records of the past presidents, or to reduce the privileges and immunizations status according to them. We come from a long way we all have been suffering from the past errors or mistakes of our governments, and we think this is enough. But nobody is perfect, if we can not forgive our leaders treat them with respects and compassion, love them even when we have to endure hardships, injustice and sorrows, who is going to lead us in future time .Remember you too, is human, certainly you will make mistakes. With all the love and respect that I have for you, you will surely make mistakes. Don’t forget we are children of light. Let God, and history judge them for the good and bad, they've been committed, whether or not we can sense the reality and know the truth. Don’t judge your brother because of his mistakes even for his madness’s remember we are all accountable and will stand in front of God for our deeds. Remember Marthin Luther king, and Jesus these great men who preferred to die whether showing evil for evil to their enemies. Remember your mission Barack in judges 4 holy book you've been sent to deliver to save and conquer with love and compassion. History will judge us all. Let' start our mission together. I love you brother, God Bless you Serge Alexandre

If the criminality of the Bush administration is not prosecuted, the Obama administration will have created a precedent for future administrations to flout the law with impunity. This would be a serious threat to our Constitutioinal system.

Kudos to Victoria Wolf for bringing up Leonard Peltier who has been falsely imprisoned for his part in AIM (American Indian Movement, the organization responsible for the 1973 standoff at Wounded Knee, Pine Ridge Reservation. In 1975, Leonard was involved in a tragic shooting that according to government officials was precipitated solely by Indians and the poor little Federal Bureau of Intimidation had nothing what so ever to do with any activity that could be misconstrued as hostile.
They claimed the same thing on December 29, 1890 when the 7th Calvary surrounded the camp led by Chief Big Foot. On a reservation supposedly protected by two treaties, four Hotchkiss guns surrounded the Wounded Knee occupants. 500 Cavalry troops under the command of Colonel James W. Forsyth began the process of disarming the Indians of any weapons. During a small disturbance, the Hotchkiss guns began firing into an unarmed gathering of people at a combined rate of 200 or more rounds a minute. Of the original 350 Indians, an estimated 50 survived. Most historical statistics report over 300 Indians were killed that day but government figures only reported the Indian dead as 64 men, 44 women and girls, and 18 babies. Many of the injured died of exposure in the freezing weather after being wounded, and several days after the incident the dead were strewn as far as approximately two to five miles away from the original site. Those who did survive the massacre or were not yet dead were taken to a makeshift hospital in the Pine Ridge Episcopal Church. Ironically, above the pulpit hung a Christmas banner that read: "Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men." A blizzard swept over the countryside the night of December 29, 1890. Perhaps the troops returned home to their families and fellow military members to celebrate yet another "Happy" holiday, New Year's Eve. The New Year of 1891 saw the blizzard break and so the soldiers responsible for the Wounded Knee Massacre greeted the New Year's Day of 1891 by returning to a valley covered with frozen bodies, many of which were frozen solidly to the ground and had to be hacked “out” before being thrown on a wagon with the other dead. The corpses were pitched into a single shallow pit though there are reports that four infants were found still alive because their mothers had wrapped them inside their own shawls before dying. Twenty-three soldiers from the Seventh Calvary were later awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour for the slaughter of defenceless Indians at Wounded Knee. Those medals of dishonour still stand after many years of trying to have them rescinded. It is disgraceful that our country gives out medals for genocide. And yet they did it repeatedly. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "What you DO speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you SAY. The government speaks volumes by it's inaction. If you would like to learn more about Peltier and/or Wounded Knee and/or rescinding the Medals of Honor, here is the link: http://www.myspace.com/rescindwoundedkneemedals

Justice from the top down, and from left to right.
Equal justice, or it just 'ain't' justice. Speaking of justice:
There are so many items on our new presidents desk ... here is another: our own political prisoners, starting with Leonard Peltier.
It is way past time to send him home to his family, and people. Bridge the gap, by acknowledging the great American holocaust ... showing Native American families that their lives are just as valuable as any others.
Please, President Obama don't forget the Original American when you go correcting wrongs. Thank you.
Get the facts ... help Leonard get home ... it is way past time for his release.

Please do we need to restore our faith in the USA.
We need to heal! It's our rights to know the truth of what had really happened in Sept. 11-2001!

It is imperative that our great loss of 9-11 be re-investigated and the findings be revealed for all to see. We deserve to know.

Bush & Cheney should be tried for treason and war crimes. They have both destroyed this country economically, loss of American lives by their bogus war and allowing unchecked Mexico border jumpers. Illegal immigration is bankrupting this country along with bush's bogus war. Prosecute both of them!!

I agree that those who held the highest offices in the United States must be held accountable for their high crimes and misdemeanors. Our Constitution is in jeopardy if this is not done.

These War Crimes will not just go away. How am I to insist and teach my son not to violate the Law with clear violations in our government?
