The last eight years have seen an unprecedented expansion of executive power. Presidential signing statements on legislation passed by Congress invalidated the separation of powers and created an unauthorized line item veto. The so-called Unitary Executive theory, the “War on Terror” paradigm, immunity, impunity and lawlessness—all destroyed the balance of power in a coordinated assault on the Constitution. President Obama must repudiate the crimes of the past and be a guardian of our existing rights: abortion rights, racial justice, protection from government spying, and all the rest. But he must also expand the Constitution to address health care, housing, economic rights, and much, much more. In the first 100 days of his administration, President Obama must act to ... Repudiate the “unitary” presidency.Renounce the use of signing statements to alter legislation.Appoint officials and judges who will uphold the Constitution in all respects.Recognize and respect international law and join the International Criminal Court.

This Minority Leader John Boehner seems to think he has authority to tell the other republicans what to do in the absence of those terrorists Bush & Cheney. Perhaps he should be included in with this investigation for the crimes against the people of the United States of America. WE want "CHANGE IN OUR GOVERNMENT" but we won't get change if there are commies still in the White House like Boehner and many repubicans who think like children and are not working toward the rights of all Americans! Boehner should be removed and replaced by someone with a BRAIN!

I agree and hope BHO will repeal any part of the Patriot Act which gave imunity to Bush et. al. The special prosecutor has to be given the same access to records etc. that they would have for any of the non-violent offencers etc. who are prosecuted.
But, I also believe there needs to be a group to oversee government officials, apparently we can't expect them to objectively oversee themselves, which isn't a surprise.
But, who beside the international Courts can do this...the international courts that Bush (and others) refuse to comply?

I never want to see criminals get away with their crimes, free to be recycled into another administration again!

Yes, I believe that it is imperative that the Bush administration be accountable for their actions. The U.S. of America is not a dictatorship, and they ran the country as if it were. They were completely careless and irreverent to the feelings of the people of the U.S. It is important that this not be allowed to happen again. The neo-con mentality must be squelched before they get a chance to ruin American democracy.

While you are at it go back to the Clinton administration Also. Do you have any idea how many people cant believe the things they got away with. Over twenty five people associated with them have died of unnatural and or unexplainable causes. Just look how sloppy the Vince foster execution was carried out and how neatly it was covered up. How could we let the clintons literally get away with murder????

There should a method to hold all government authorities responsible for their actions retroactive. This includes local, state and federal. For example, our border security is definately lacking and has been for many years. This includes Democrats as well as Republicans who must be held for trial for omission of duty. With the war in Iraq, if this was a mistake which it has proven not to be, then most of Congress is to blame. The downside is the war was dragged on because of lack of a multitude of NATO troops to begin with. A war cannot be fought with a small military detachment.

Bush, Cheney, Wolfilwitz, Rumsfeld, Rice must all be prosecuted for their crimes. They misled us into war with the wrong country, killing Americans and Iraquis, etc. They abused the Constitution and Americans' civil rights. They tortured people, they spied on people, they gave themselves powers of a monarchy or dictatorship, and they acted like spoiled children and must be adults now and atone for the crimes they committed!

Appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate the "bailout" and secret payoffs. Not Fitzgerald since he seems to be a political whore of the Republicans.
Was $700 billion of our tax dollars given to Bush so he would leave office?
The Bush boys have robbed us of much since the father's administration. We want it back.
