Published March 05, 2009 @ 10:50AM PT

The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation has worked with hundreds of organizations to collect signatures on the Appeal to President Obama, calling on him to take leadership for a nuclear weapons-free world.

We have arranged to submit the petition to the Obama administration on Wednesday, March 11. Have you signed the petition yet? It only takes a few seconds.

Go to www.wagingpeace.org/appeal to read the full text of the petition and add your name and personal comments.

I am not naive enough to sign this petition.  We, the USA, have too many enemies throughout the world.  There is peace through superior firepower.  This includes nuclear weapons.  Our government needs nuclear weapons as a deterrent to keep terrorists and rogue nations at bay, thereby, keeping my kids safe from threats domestic and foreign.

In a nuclear exchange, nobody is safe - not even your kids. The only way to ensure that nuclear weapons are not used is to abolish them worldwide through transparent, verifiable, irreversible means.

We are safer with the threat of a nuclear exchange versus being the recipientwithout a means to defend ourselves.  I agreed, like Ronald Reagan, that neither position is ideal.  This thought was his motivation for the Star Wars program back in the 1980s.

Lets all work hard to eliminate this horrible weapon from our Planet Earth.

Find the missing bombs both in suitcases and on the Ocean Floor.

High Priorty must be this endeavor.

    thanks
