I do this on a regular basis and email and sigh petitions. Yet our representatives fail to support us in favor of corporate profits. I get the same canned response ever time I have hundreds of them all identical. Stating why my representative believes cannabis is the devil and quoting DEA bull shit every time. I am tired of the tyranny and feel it will take some action beyond a call or email to have this madness ended. Greed rules Washington it is the only thing that motivates OUR representatives.

I FOR ONE AM LOOSING FAITH IN OUR SYSTEM. A SYSTEM THAT JAILS MILLIONS, LIES TO SUPPORT THIS FUTEL SYSTEM. THEY IGNOR ALL THE FACTS AND THE MAJORITY THAT SAY END THE ENSLAVEMENT OF AMERICANS.

Mexico is talking about legalization again this would end all their problems except for the billions they would lose. We pay them every year to support our failed attempt at legislating mortality.

I WILL MAKE THE SAME PLEDGE I DID CALIFORNIA MAKE IT LEGAL END THE MADNESS AND I WILL MOVE TO YOUR COUNTRY AND BRING MY EXPERIENCE AND RETIREMENT WITH ME....

My two representatives have been in congress for a long time. They are rich and have that look of someone that drinks allot. They quote the DEA and federal laws that they help pass to support the ones that benefit from the enslavement of millions.

To me it is a massive master plan to ensure they leave office with enough money to guarentee they as well as their children live in wealth and happiness. While insisting on enslaving the poor and powerless mainly people of color to pay for their prosperity. It sickens me to think of living with this fact. Anyone that looks at the facts and reality of the war on drugs any fool would say this is not right. They allow the legal drug companies to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans every year. Cannabis has killed no one but because it would cause the legal guys to lose billions they still lie and fight to keep it illegal and jail and destroy millions every year. But what the hell its just the poor blacks and who cares about them right?

I am open for suggestions? I send emails and write my representatives several times a week and get the same canned response. It is the same one every time quoting DEA and bull shit as per normal. Our reps are sitting in DC and counting the millions they get from lobbyist every year and do nothing. They are above the law and totally non accountable to the people they are sworn to represent. I advocate ending the PAC and lobby influence and limiting the money our representatives can amass while in office. Until this is done they will continue to turn a deft ear to us. The system is totally screwed up and needs to be fixed.

Looks like I am talking to myself on this site? But something just came to mind again and to me it justifies legal cannabis more than anything I have heard.

Our leader in a speech about the health care problem said it is our number one issue. I disagree his motivation for the statement was one Americana every 36 seconds has to file for bankruptcy because they are unable to pay their medical bills. True this is an important issue my petition on this site cures both problems.

    http://healthcare.change.org/actions/view/free_health_care_no_new_tax_no_deficit_spending_save_a_kids_life

But the point I am trying to make is one every 36 seconds has their lives destroyed by the war on drugs. They are jailed have to pay heavy fines forced to take rehab whether they need it or not. Lose their job kids and trying to restart with a criminal record is tuff. Its like forcing every person that ever drank a 6 pack to rehab!!  It is a waste as many things related to the war on drugs.

If I had my choice I would rather face bankruptcy than jail. So which is more important saving people from financial problems or saving them from having their very life and any future ended?

To me this is why the war on drugs and cannabis legalization is always number one on our minds. We on main-street know the damage this war does. Sure medical problems are hard on a person but they can recover. It is impossible to recover form a felony and a criminal record.

End the war on drugs take the money wasted and pay for universal car for all Americnas. No cost not tax no deficite spending and save a kids life vote for my idea.

Once folks become better informed about how marijuana affects people, about the truths, I think they will be less opposed to the idea," said Scott Bledsoe, of Crestline, who sued San Bernardino County for balking at issuing medical-marijuana identification cards.

But not everyone is excited about the prospect of legalized pot. Law enforcement officials oppose the plan, as do many local elected leaders. And even if marijuana were legalized in California, federal law still would prohibit its possession and use, although it remains unclear how aggressively authorities would enforce those laws.

"The recreational use of marijuana; I am not sure it is something the government should be encouraging," San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt said. "Smoking any substance can be harmful to people's lungs."

In July, Oakland became the first American city to tax medical-marijuana sales. Officials said the tax should earn the city about $1 million annually.

this is happening. call your representatives. obama needs to learn some shit in mexico and the meeting of the americas on the futility of the national/international prohibition on cannabis and hemp.

just too many lives lost, DEA human hours wasted hunting down a bunch of plants and a bunch of humans wanting to consume or facilitate consumption of said plant. meanwhile this underground economy is exploding as cannabis consumption is at record levels. unfortunately this means gangs get 60+% of funding from facilitating cannabis consumption!! they get their revenue in the form of GUNS & AMMO FROM OUR WALMARTS. are you f-cking kidding me?

we are nearing a million arrests alone per year for cannabis. so many man hours wasted. resources poorly spent. lives ruined.

caught up in the crossfire is the poor hemp plant. i love the seeds. and am looking for a good pair of hemp jeans. but it will be imported from canada, the hemp that is. even though our state felt that we deserve the right to cultivate industrial hemp just last year, f-cking arnollld, the pot smoker himself, vetoed the bill that would have allowed CA to grow it this year!!! get it DONE NATIONALLY NOW. don’t waste our time and our man hours just make it happen. CANNABIS farmers don’t want industrial hemp dudes anywhere near our girls.

end the prohibtion on cannabis and hemp across the americas senor obama.  learn from this summit of the americas.  read the recent latin american report in favor of ending the war on cannabis,  thus implying hemp.

we need to emphasize every reason the prohibition on cannabis and hemp is a crime against humanity!!!

The largest 4/20 rally is in Boulder, Co. Last year drew over 10,000. The BIG big day for rallies is May 2nd. That's the day of the global marijuana march (www.globalmarijuanamarch.com), taking place in hundreds of cities across the globe. Expect Boulder's 4/20 celebration and the global marijuana marches to far surpass last years turnout.

anyone know if there is a designated meeting place to show support for legalization of cannabis, i guess in the form of ab390, taking place on 4/20 in San Francisco?  i sure hope so, sorta like that silly tax day thing of several days ago, but we would have all the rational reasons for the ending of the failed unjust prohibtion on cannabis and hemp.

I highly doubt the police are really going to make too much of a fuss if you're toking at a pot rally. Technically smoking marijuana at all is strictly prohibited. Anywhere. That hasn't stopped the many smoke-ins and other public ganja events. It's just not worth the time and paperwork for the police to really make an effort at busting people at these things. I'm willing to bet that the whole crowd is gonna be smoking and the cops won't say shit about it.

"call this number (1-973-409-3274) to vote to try to legalize marijuana. There is a recording to tell you all the necessary details you need to know about the subject.  This is not a joke. This is an honest effort to get enough votes to move this topic from a discussion to an actual bill to take before the federal legislature. The goal is to legalize marijuana in a responsible fashion in the hopes of using the billions of dollars in revenue that can be generated to help fray the cost of the United States' deficit"

Sen Webb is just the latest in a string of lawmakers speaking out in favor of drug law reform. The tide is taking a dramatic turn in our favor; and in the course of how fast things usually move in Washington, it's happening relatively quickly.

Help keep the momentum going! Be sure to get out on May 2nd for the Global Marijuana March. I only wish there was a little more in the way of activity online on the part of some of these march organizers. The internet is such a valuable resource I couldn't imagine not taking full advantage of it. It takes 5 minutes the build a Myspace or Facebook page.

So anyway my point is we are making progress by the week. There is no need to lose hope. Quite the opposite really. Sure, we're looking at an 18-month commission. What we need to do is make sure this issue is viewed very differently by the time this commission releases it's findings.

    Some more irony!!

Ever wonder why in states that have voted (by a majority of free? Americans) and made cannabis legal they still put up road blocks, will not clearly define the law and the feds still do their thing?

Even though it is legal by popular vote the states and FEDs try to make it impossible to use it legally?

You can use it but you cannot grow it?
You can grow it but we will not tell you how many you can grow and still arrest you if we say you have too many plants.
If you give some to a friend for their pain we will arrest you!

They could not rig the vote so we voted it in, but they still act in favor of major corporations that control every aspect of our country.

Major corporations are not concerned with the fact these laws (based on greed and racism) enslave millions to protect their profits. They also pay our representatives to vote in support of them. I do not understand why more Americans do not see this facts. Perhaps they do not read and study history they rely on the lies and propaganda for their enlignentment.

Please do some research save billions maybe this will motivate a few. My concern is the 20 million jailed and the million jailed every year. This has a devastating effect on our country.

Have you been convicted of a felony and tried to get a job? Well if you grow this weed you are a felon and will spend 5 years in federal prison for making a personal choice....

Diane Feinstein is a moron and has lost my support...please american's call her to voice your concern over her views of cannabis.

    Dear Mr. Newman:

Thank you for writing to me regarding the use of medical marijuana. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond to your letter.

Drug use in the United States is a serious problem that can create countless economic and social problems. In my years as a public servant, I have seen the havoc that drug use can bring, not just to individuals, but to entire communities. While I understand your concerns about the current legal classification of marijuana, and appreciate your well thought out opinions on this topic, please know that I do not support the legalization of illegal drugs, including marijuana. My convictions on this matter have been developed over many years of experience in criminal justice, including nine years as a mayor who worked very closely with the law enforcement community. I know the tragedy that drug abuse causes in the lives of the addicted and on victims of drug-related crimes and their families.

However, while I do not support the legalization of any illegal drug for recreational use, please know that I do recognize that marijuana may have medicinal properties that could alleviate conditions such as AIDS-related wasting and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Given this, I am examining what, if any, changes to Federal law are called for. Please know that I will keep your thoughts and concerns in mind should the Senate consider medical marijuana related issues in the future.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I hope you will continue to keep me informed on the issues of importance to you. Best regards.

    Sincerely yours, Dianne Feinstein
            United States Senator

has anyone considered "WATER" in the argument for ending the prohibition on cannabis & hemp?

it takes roughly 200 to 700 liters of water to make one litre of WINE. http://wineindustryinsight.com/?p=1415  lets say a conservative wineo drinks a bottle every other day rounding down to 3 bottles a week.  in six months that person has consumed 78 bottles of wine, which (78*450=) roughly 35,000 liters of water to support their choice of vice over six months, or 192 liters PER DAY.

on my last 3 month indoor grow cycle, i used less then 700 liters of water to grow 6 cannabis plants (3 sativas & 3 indicas).  these 6 plants have lasted me just about 6 months which comes out to less then 4 liters a day.

we are in a time of water shortage, which "vice" or "choice" is better for the planet???

END THE PROHIBITION ON CANNABIS & HEMP and help SAVE our WATER SUPPLY
