Action Without Borders recognizes that there are millions of individuals and organizations around the world wanting and working to transform their communities for the better. Lack of information about available resources and services as well as a lack opportunities for action and collaboration often prevent people and groups from realizing this transformation. Action Without Borders exists to create opportunities for individuals and organizations to find each other in order to strengthen their services, fulfill their own missions, and put their beliefs into action.
Action Without Borders operates the idealist.org website. Idealist allows nonprofit organizations (more than 80,000 to date) to post information about their programs, events, staff positions, and volunteer and internship opportunities; and provides resources for individuals exploring nonprofit careers and service. More than 50,000 people visit us every day, and more than 500,000 people subscribe to My Idealist, a service that delivers a personalized daily email with information about new information -- jobs, volunteer opportunties, events -- posted on the site. We also offer versions of Idealist in Spanish and French, and resource centers for Nonprofit Managers, Jobseekers and those considering graduate school.
These on-line resources are complemented by a series of on-the-ground programs, including the our series of nationwide Nonprofit Career Fairs and our Graduate School Fairs for Careers in the Common Good.
