Wish it could be more! I'm retired on Social Security, which is my only income and no savings.
I would however, like to volunteer to help in any ways I can.
I would especially like to see the HRC address affordable, government subsidized (HUD) housing geared to the LGBT Community.
Another issue I would like to see addressed is legal action against the Olympic Committee for it's refusal to use the word Olympics in the Gay "Olympics" Games.I Googled Olympics and discovered there are: The Winter Olympics For Kids, Senior Olympics, AAU Olympics, and The Special Olympics whose motto is Creating A World of Acceptance. There are the Innovative Teaching Olympics, Eco Olympics, Education Olympics and the Fire Fighter Olympics. Did you know there are even Knitting Olympics, Silly Olympics, Silly Sleeping Poses Olympics and one that I would consider being a judge for, The Booty Olympics.
The Olympic Committee's decision to enforce their copyright on the word “Olympics” is clearly nothing more than blatant discrimination.That decision is not something I feel comfortable settling for. True it's only a word, but so were fag, queer, fairy and homo. We should not settle for anything less than equality. All of these other groups are eligible for competing in the official Olympics and yet are still allowed to have their own.
Wouldn't the Gay Olympic Games also be Creating A World of Acceptance?
