Change.org is seeking a Director of Marketing to develop and lead the marketing, messaging, branding and strategic promotion for the world’s fastest growing platform for social change. The Director of Marketing’s mission will be to develop a high-impact marketing plan that helps us build a global brand focused on citizen empowerment.
The Director of Marketing will:
I. Define and Build a Global Empowerment Brand
- Build a clear brand that convincingly communicates the power of the Change.org platform to enable people to make a difference in their world.
- Ensure that this brand identity is reflected in everything that we do, extending to our rapidly expanding international staff and in every way we interface with our members, partners and the media.
- Develop compelling and consistent collateral materials that reflect the Change.org brand including on the website, throughout our PR communications and in support of high-profile events in which Change.org will participate.
II. Develop and Execute a High-Impact Marketing Plan
- Develop and execute a promotional strategy to generate positive recognition of the Change.org brand among hundreds of millions of people and hundreds of thousands of nonprofits worldwide.
- Support the launch and promotion of new products and manage the cross-team implementation of promotion plans
- Show deep understanding of messaging and framing, and the judgement to repeatedly find the right message to engage campaign targets, journalists or Change.org members.
Demonstrated success in creating a remarkable brand in a digital environment is required. Experience marketing for technology start-ups or organizations in the cause-based sector is preferred but not required.

Compensation is competitive, and while preference will be given to candidates in Washington, DC, New York City or San Francisco, we are open to candidates based in other locations around the world.
