Change.org is hiring a Director of Business Development to help expand and deepen our client relationships, market our list-building services, and develop partnerships with leading nonprofits large and small. Preference will be given to candidates with a particular interest in business development among environmental organizations, although we are open to candidates with a range of issue interests.
Change.org is a profitable social venture with a presence in San Francisco, Washington DC, and New York City. We are currently growing at more than 500,000 members a month, winning rapid-response social action campaigns on a weekly basis, and working with more the top organizations – from Amnesty International to Human Rights Campaign to the Sierra Club – to promote their advocacy campaigns to millions of potential supporters.
The Director of Business Development will:
- Initiate and deepen relationships with hundredsofleading nonprofits and help them identify how to best use theChange.org platform to promote their issue campaign
- Market and sell Change.org’s list-building services to nonprofit groups across the country
- Manage nonprofit client campaigns and ensure outstanding performance
- Establish and maintain relationships with leading nonprofit consulting, fundraising, and digital marketing firms
- Represent Change.org at conferences and networking events and give small and large group presentations
- Strategize with Change.org’s executive team about how to continue to expand our services and reach
Candidates should have previous experience in at least one of the following: nonprofit consulting, sales, business development, or marketing. Regardless of experience, we are looking for a passionate, hard-working and organized self-starter who has strong relationships in the nonprofit sector and wants to be part of a fast-moving and ambitious organization working for progressive change.
Compensation and benefits are competitive. The position may be held in Washington, DC, New York City or San Francisco, CA.
