We're looking for brilliant storytellers with
fiercely good writing skills and a passion for social change who want to help tell the stories of everyday people who are making change happen and compel others to join them.
You should have proven record of success in fast-paced environments, be self-directed, and have the ability to collaborate with a cross disciplinary team of writers, organizers and designers. We'll also expect you to have a strong creative opinion but also develop a true understanding of our voice and the ability to implement it creatively, but consistently.
For the right folks, the salary and benefits are very competitive.
Directors of Storytelling will:
- Collaborate with Change.org's expanding team of organizers to identify opportunities for great stories that form the basis of creative grassroots campaigns through a strong narrative and theory of change.
- Design and execute story-driven email campaigns on a number of local, national, and international issues, from improving safety standards for workers in Bangladesh to helping a teenager in Texas win the right to form a gay-straight alliance at her high school.
- Help to manage Change.org's entire highly-targeted email program, including drafting emails to send to our members.
The job is sometimes 10 to 6, sometimes longer -- and will almost always be in an exceptionally fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Your co-workers are high-impact, low-ego, and have a deep respect for our members. We expect you to be the same. We prefer applicants living in or prepared to move to Washington, D.C., but are flexible on location if the right person requires it.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.
