The Habitat Trust for Wildlife is my #1 charity to support. Since 2000, they have acquired over 300-imperiled habitat acres for rare and endangered species. They focus on the biodiversity hotspots, starting in California. The habitat land they acquire is given a conservation easement that runs with the title, so it will never be developed. They create Nature Sanctuaries, held safe and sacred.
I cannot say enough good things about the charity and all the people that help them get the conservation work done. They will defend the land and their right as a charity to conserve habitat. Right now they have two very large lawsuits against a City and a developer who has breached a contract with them to conserve 86-acres of imperiled sage habitat.
