Youth in Need

Believing in the power of potential, Youth In Need's mission is to provide nurturing environments and educational opportunities so children, youth and families will find safety and hope, achieve their goals, and build a positive future.

Founded by community volunteers in 1974, Youth In Need intensively assists children, teens and families in greater St. Louis and the surrounding eastern Missouri counties. Often, clients face crises and problems that threaten their future. Youth In Need provides a crisis shelter for runaway and homeless youth; residential care programs; street outreach services that help homeless youth; mentoring programs; alternative education opportunities; Head Start and Early Head Start services for families with young children (prenatal through kindergarten); and before- and after-school programs.
