Virginia Mentoring Partnership

Founded in 1993 in partnership with MENTOR/The National Mentoring Partnership and Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Mentoring Partnership (VMP) is a 501(c)(3) that works to promote quality mentoring relationships for Virginia?s children that can help them reap educational and behavioral rewards. Rather than operating mentoring programs, our mission is to provide training and technical assistance to existing and developing mentoring programs to increase the number and quality of mentoring relationships for Virginia?s youth. Our vision is for every Virginia child who wants or needs a mentor to be provided with one. Since 1995, VMP has provided training and technical support to more than 580 groups, including businesses, schools, churches and government agencies, and to 13, 750 volunteers who mentor/tutor Virginia children and coordinate mentoring programs.
