Union Rescue Mission

We embrace the urban poor with the compassion of Christ, giving hope and healing for a changed life, helping them to find their way home.

Union Rescue Mission is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring the lives of the homeless and poor in Los Angeles by seeking to empower them to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient and inter-dependent.

Union Rescue Mission is the oldest and largest mission of its kind in the United States. Nutritious meals, hot showers, warm beds, clothing, shoes, haircuts, a safe place, and a listening ear are a few of the things URM offers men, women and children everyday. Our first priority is to meet basic needs, and then to assist in finding ways for one to get back on their feet. Most services are free of charge.
