Ihangane translates to “be patient” in Kinyarwanda, the native tongue of Rwanda. Our goal is to provide impoverished and disempowered communities in Rwanda with tools to flourish. Our mission is to provide funding and technical support for project proposals that are generated from those living in underserved communities, and in some way strengthen the community’s HIV education, prevention, diagnosis and treatment programs. We believe that building a healthy community often requires expanding beyond the direct medical services to address needs of the community at large. Through collaborative efforts with experts in various fields, TIP often supports proposals that involve economic development and infrastructure building in addition to direct health care needs.
