Mission Statement
The Humane Society of Northeast Florida is a private, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to:
Establishing and operating NO KILL animal shelter facilities to ensure comfort and assistance to all adoptable dogs and cats, puppies and kittens in need in Northeast Florida
To adopt companion animals into homes for life
To advance responsible programs to reunite lost pets with their owners
To encourage, educate and support the spay and neuter of companion animals
To encourage and strengthen the human/animal bond with programs and services that focus on the needs of both people and animals
To create lasting and comprehensive change in human behavior toward animals through education about responsible pet ownership, including the spaying and neutering of pets, and about the humane and respectful treatment of all animals;
In addition to caring for animals in need, a goal of the Humane Society of Northeast Florida is to educate the public, and to promote the spaying and neutering of companion animals at an early age. This routine procedure prevents the birth of unwanted litters, thus helping to reduce the killing of healthy animals.
Medical care and appropriate shots are provided for all animals put up for adoption, including rabies shots and Putnam County tags.
The shelter maintains "lost and found" files for animals reported to us.
We offer microchip identification with all adoptions. This service is available to all pet owners. The shelter maintains the microchip database for Putnam County.
THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA has not yet started any petitions.
