Second Genesis

The mission of Second Genesis is to empower individuals and families to make choices that will enable them to experience a healthy, responsible life free from alcohol, drugs, crime, violence and exploitation.

Second Genesis facilitates individual recovery from substance abuse by providing information, support and guidance; and by insisting that persons served take an active role in planning and implementing therapeutic activities for themselves, their peers and their families.

Second Genesis believes in the:
1. Efficacy of the therapeutic community model,
2. Holistic approach to address all obstacles to recovery,
3. Involvement of client and family in treatment,
4. Adherence to a strict code of ethics, and
5. Reduction of stigma associated with addiction.
