Red Feather Development Group

Red Feather works with American Indian communities teaching techniques of sustainable housing and building straw bale homes, with volunteers recruited from around the country and internationally, working alongside tribal members, to build homes for tribal members identified through a selection process developed in concert with our tribal advisory councils. Red Feather also provides training in housing construction and in organizational and community development. Our program is grounded in the belief that the severe housing crisis in reservation communities can best be addressed by supporting the development of indigenous non-profit housing organizations, which will develop their own unique and culturally appropriate solutions to housing needs within their communities.
