READ TO GROW

Read to Grow's mission is to improve early literacy for all Connecticut children by helping families share books with their babies beginning at birth, by encouraging language development, and by providing free children's books. Our goal is to help parents understand the critical connection between verbal stimulation, language development and future literacy. Child development studies show that children who live in a language-rich environment and who are read to from an early age enter school better prepared to learn, regardless of socioeconomic background. By beginning at birth, parents can strengthen their family and help their youngsters develop the early literacy skills they will need to succeed in school, and in life.
Read to Grow serves children and families through its two major programs: Books for Babies and Books for Kids.
