Plenty’s
Mission is to assist in the protection, stewardship, and sharing of the world’s
resources to promote the well being of the communities and environment we
share. Towards this end, Plenty 1) Facilitates activities to share community experience across
cultural and organizational barriers and to foster collaboration with groups
and individuals who share a similar vision; 2) Assists communities in the
application of appropriate technologies to encourage village self-sufficiency,
such as renewable energy, water systems, organic gardens, and micro-enterprise
development; 3) Supports the establishment of medical programs that encourage
local control and responsibility for community health, such as Primary Health Care
training, Midwifery training, and Public Health initiatives, and 4) Advances
nutritional programs based on the introduction, instruction, and preparation of
environmentally sound vegetable-based protein sources. Plenty also assists in disaster relief and recovery.
