Pine Street Inn is a nonprofit organization committed to individuals in need of shelter, sustenance and the basic support needed to lead a dignified and stable life.
It is the mission of the Inn, in all of its programs, to be a community of respect and hope for each guest it serves, to be a resource through which neighbors and friends can help to meet the basic needs of others, and to serve as a national leader in the fight to end homelessness.
Established in 1969, Pine Street Inn originally served only men and only provided overnight shelter and food. In 1980, the Inn moved to its present location in the South End neighborhood of Boston where it also began to serve women and later, to develop programs that offer more permanent solutions to homelessness, such as transitional housing, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and job training. In addition to the basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and health care, Pine Street now offers street outreach, education, job training, and permanent affordable housing to nearly 10,000 men and women annually.
Pine Street Inn is currently the largest provider of services for homeless, and formerly homeless, men and women in New England and is the only organization that provides the full spectrum of services for this population.
Pine Street Inn has not yet started any petitions.
