The Oregon Environmental Council, established in 1968, was the first statewide environmental group in Oregon. Over the past 37 years, OEC has helped forge Oregon's reputation as a national leader in environmental protection. We have played a key role in accomplishments such as the bottle bill (1971), statewide land use laws (1973), the Oregon Safe Drinking Water Act (1981), Oregon's statewide curbside recycling law (1983), the nation's first controls on woodstove emissions (1983), the nation's most comprehensive pesticide right-to-know law (1999) and the nation's first ban on mercury in thermostats and other consumer products (2001).
Oregon Environmental Council has not yet started any petitions.
