Lakeside''s mission is to preserve and create affordable housing opportunities in Chicago though education, advocacy, and development. The agency''s activities are directed primarily at low- and moderate-income households in need of affordable housing in Chicago, including primarily in specific community areas where affordable housing units have been depleted by private development activity and where public and private community development investment has been limited. These include 8 community areas on Chicago''s far north side.
