Our Mission is to preserve the landscape and promote a sustainable development in the Mediterranean and Black Sea Area.
Currently this area is crossed by a number of political, social, economic and cultural problems. This situation has accelerated its environmental damage.
That is why FISPMED priorities are related to environmental problems and to the sustainable development issues, according to a number of documents elaborated by international and communitarian institutions:
- better management of water and of its demand;
- an increased rational use of energy, of renewable energetic sources by also limiting climate changes and starting an adaptation process;
- supporting sustainable mobility through an appropriate transport management;
- assuring sustainable tourism that may also become a leading economic sector;
- guaranteeing sustainable agricultural and rural development;
- furnishing incentives for sustainable urban development;
- favouring sustainable development of sea, coastal zones and marine sources related activities.
Fispmed works through actions aiming at reinforcing the contribute of the civil society which Fispmed represents, giving it the chance to express their concerning regarding European and International policies in which it is directly involved (for example, Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean). Consequently FISPMED aim at the reinforcement of the democratic participative process and at the research of more efficient solutions which can better match with the real needs of the people involved.
