Ecotrust works on conservation and economic development from Alaska to California by investing in the distinctive natural advantages of individuals, businesses and communities. Through that investment we seek to inspire new innovations that lead to long-term, reliable prosperity for life in all its forms. Ecotrust is an entirely new kind of organization, one that integrates public-private purpose and for-profit and non-profit structures. Among Ecotrust?s many innovations are co-founding the world?s first environmental bank, starting the world?s first ecosystem investment fund, creating a range of programs in fisheries, forestry, food, farms and children?s health, and developing new scientific and information tools to improve social, economic and environmental decision-making. Over nearly 20 years, Ecotrust has converted $60 million in grants and investments into more than $300 million in capital for local communities.
