United Way of the Dayton Area

United Way of the Greater Dayton Area is an independent, nonprofit organization overseen by a local volunteer board since 1914. Aside from government, United Way is the largest funder of human services in our community. Trained volunteers use their expertise to evaluate hundreds of programs and fund only the most vital and effective, to ensure that donations are well spent. United Way: - Is local and accountable - Helps the people who need it most - Is a leader and partner in improving the quality of life in our community

Areas of focus are: Nurturing Children for Lifelong Achievement, Strengthening and Sustaining Families, Helping People live Healthier, Safe Neighborhoods, Economic Self-Sufficiency, Maintaining Independence for the Elderly and Disabled, and Improving the Health and Human Service System.
