Our Mission: Is to get people across the world to display blue ribbons to support ME/CFS all over the internet!
This is to show your support for the 28 million people suffering from CFS/ME across the world.
The Blue Ribbon Campaign started in April 2009 by a M.E./CFS patient in Canada. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of a devastating disease known as Myalgia Encephalomyletis (ME) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
Mission
Our mission is to raise awareness about ME/CFS and get you involved in raising awareness for the cause and we hope one day to start a research fund to support biomedical research for ME/CFS
You can show your support with a Blue Ribbon
Our Guiding Principles
1. This is a grassroots organization to be run and directed by those who have ME/CFS.
2. This organization is meant to centralize the message that ME/CFS is a serious disease, and funding for biomedical research must be raised.
3. The organization will never run out of an office. Instead, it will be run from laptops and computers by volunteers.
4. To remain accountable to you by making public every cent spent and where it has gone.
5. Once the initial capital is raised for us to become a charity, 90% of each dollar raised will be used for raising awareness, and for a research fund. The other 10% will be used for running the organization.
6. All volunteers, donors, and sponsors will be treated with great respect, and will be recognized if they wish.
7. This organization will work with other organizations to raise awareness for ME/CFS.
8. We will only support organizations and blogs that support the biomedical approach to ME/CFS.
9. Due to the fact that ME and CFS often mean the same thing depending on the country, we will use ME/CFS to identify the disease.
10. The organization will eventually be incorporated from Canada, but will someday expand to the UK, USA, Australia and anywhere else a chapter is needed.
11. This organization will do all it can to raise awareness and support people with ME/CFS.
12. We support the Purple. Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS share symptoms and awareness day in common. Part of raising awareness will be to include FMS materials, and the purple ribbon into our campaign.
