ADVOCACY FOR PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS

The mission of Advocacy for Patients is to protect and promote the rights of the chronically ill.  Advocacy for Patients provides free information, advice and advocacy services to patients with chronic illnesses in areas including health and disability insurance, Social Security disability, employment discrimination, school-based accommodations, and resource location. 

Our Know Your Rights Handbook teaches patients about their rights in all of these areas of law, as well, so that they can learn to become their own advocates.

In addition, Advocacy for Patients participates in public policy discussions of health care reform, testifying on both the federal and state levels.
