Is Democracy For Sale? 

ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER SM is dedicated to the proposition that candidates cannot simply buy elections.  We are a grass-roots organization that believes that ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER than mere political promises. 

We challenge political candidates to contribute 20 percent or more of their self-funded contributions going forward to doing good – to helping schools, foster children, crime prevention, the disabled or frail elderly, and other worthy causes.  

Candidates who say they want to help their communities should show it by giving back.  We challenge them to put their money where their mouth is, by contributing to a good cause of their choice.   

By their deeds we shall know them, not just by millions in slick advertising.  Do candidates truly want to help their communities?  Let them demonstrate their values by identifying and supporting worthy causes in need of funding.

Isn’t it ironic that candidates spend millions telling us how they can make a difference (or attacking their opponents), when that money would be better spent making a difference NOW!  For the cost of a single TV campaign ad, we could avoid firing police, nurses or teachers; shelter a homeless person; feed a family.

Candidates, rise to the 20 percent challenge!  Take the ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER pledge:  “I promise to immediately and publicly donate 20% or more of any funds I contribute to my campaign going forward to a good cause.”
