What's in YOUR box of Kleenex?

Greenpeace and Kimberly-Clark have announced the successful resolution of the Kleercut campaign as the maker of Kleenex has established a new sustainability policy focused on protecting endangered forests. To find out more go to

Hey friends,
When you're sick, you might cuddle up with a warm blanket, a bowl of steaming soup, and your box of Kleenex. With so many uses, Kleenex is one of the most popular brands of facial tissue today. But did you know that each box of Kleenex takes 90 years to grow? Every time you use one of these handy tissues, you're blowing your nose into ancient forests!
Watch this to find out what's really inside your box of Kleenex.
Kimberly-Clark, the makers of Kleenex, Scott, Viva, Cottonelle, Kotex and Huggies brands, are currently using wood fiber from ancient forests like the Canadian Boreal Forest, Canada's largest forest. In fact, most of the one-use products this tissue giant makes are made from wood pulp from unsustainable sources and contain no recycled material!
There's good news though. You, as the consumer, have the power to get Kimberly-Clark to change their unsustainable ways!
Join us in asking Kimberly-Clarke to stop purchasing wood fiber from endangered forests, dramatically increase the recycled content of their products, including Kleenex tissues, and only buy virgin fiber that is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. TAKE ACTION NOW!
In the meantime, there are many companies who do provide forest-friendly alternatives. As consumers like you continue to ask for forest friendly products, companies like Kimberly-Clark will have to change their ways. For a listing of forest friendly products, check out our Recycled Tissue and Toilet Paper Guide.
Remember, your tissue and toilet paper purchases really do make a difference!
For the Forests,
Prerana
