GRAND STREET SETTLEMENT expands opportunities for low-income families and individuals by providing culturally relevant services that support community-building, advocacy, self-determination and an enriched quality of life.
Since its founding in 1916, Grand Street Settlement has offered a continuum of innovative programs ranging from early childhood and youth development to community support for adults and seniors.

Grand Street Settlement offers programs for community members of every age…  

EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES Four sites (Lower East Side and Bushwick, Brooklyn) help meet the emotional, social, cognitive and physical development needs of hundreds of children annually. All programs take place in comfortable, colorfully decorated classrooms staffed by caring and dedicated teachers, a nurse and a disability coordinator.    

ADULT AND FAMILY SERVICES Grand Street Settlement’s Integrated Life-Cycle Model tackles critical family issues, such as financial literacy, affordable housing and access to healthcare coverage. Through almost 100 years of service to the community, we understand that full family support is often needed to truly help individual family members.    

YOUTH  SERVICES Grand Street Settlement provides a diverse array of year-round programs for at-risk youth ages 6 to 18. Our programs focus on leadership skills, academic achievement, self-esteem, cultural diversity, responsibility and goal setting to become self-sufficient and productive adults.    

SENIOR SERVICES Grand Street Settlement offers a broad range of services critical to the well-being of the growing number of seniors in our area – including case assistance, congregate meals, referrals for meals-on-wheels for the homebound, housing, health screenings, arts and cultural workshops, and recreational activities.
