in 2010, Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall made a comment saying:

"“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children, in the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”

I don't care what your views on abortion are, to say that any child, disability or not, is a punishment is disgusting and I will not stand for it. Delegate Marshall made an insincere apology back then, and he has gotten away with it until now.  He is an elected official and opinions like this cannot be tolerated.

This may be considered "old news" but I am not going to let this go.  Other politicians, not just in Virginia, but around the country need to know that we will not stand for these types of comments. Please sign this petition to send a message to Delegate Marshall and other politicians like him that no child is a punishment from God, but that every child is a gift from God.
