Support Christian Relief Programs That Feed the Poorest of the Poor

The Issue

Today, the vast majority of Haitians live in extreme poverty and many suffer from a lack of food and medical care. 

Haiti has long been considered the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere:

-- An estimated 80 percent of Haitians live in abject poverty.

-- More than half of the population, including two-thirds of the children, suffers from malnutrition. 

-- About 1 of every 8 children dies before reaching their fifth birthday. 

Christian relief programs and projects are helping children and the poorest of the poor in some of the most desperate places -- including Haiti and many other countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.

In addition to delivering life-sustaining food to the hungry, these organizations also provide emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance.

In my spare time I tend a small flock of chickens in my Oakland backyard.
