Fully Fund Protections for America's Wild Landscapes

Fully Fund Protections for America's Wild Landscapes

The Issue

The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is vital to creating wildlife migration corridors, allowing migratory elk and other animals to move between their summer and winter habitats.

Unfortunately, the LWCF has suffered chronic under-funding and only received full funding once during the program's 45-year history.

In addition to creating protected migration corridors, the LWCF has funded incredible places throughout the nation from Yellowstone National Park to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail to Gettysburg National Military Park. LWCF also helps expand national parks, protects hunting and fishing areas, and funds local projects like city parks and playing fields.

Right now, the U.S. Senate is considering measures that will finally fix the current “broken promise” of the LWCF by ensuring full and consistent conservation funding. Now is the time to renew our nation's commitment to land and water conservation through full and dedicated funding of the LWCF.

Tell your senators to fully support the Land and Water Conservation Fund to protect migration corridors for elk and other wildlife, and to preserve the public lands that we all enjoy.
