Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting

Mission

Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR)is the foremost national media watch group, offering well-documented analyses of media bias on the whole spectrum of public interest issues affecting youth, minorities, women, labor, the elderly and the environment. Through its efforts, FAIR facilitates the airing of diverse and dissenting voices in the media, voices that too often go unheard in public debate. People complain about the media, FAIR does something about it! FAIR opposes the consolidating conglomerate ownership of the media and lobbies for greater public access to all means of communication-- radio, television, press, and the Internet.

Programs

FAIR Activist Alert Network, now hosting over 55,000 members, responds on-line immediately to media inaccuracies. Our radio program, CounterSpin, is aired weekly on over 145 stations nationwide and our magazine, Extra! goes out to 20,000 people on a bi-monthly basis. Our website www.fair.org with archives of past articles, reports and downloadable CounterSpin programs is accessible free of charge to the public.
