The reality of violence against women is sobering: One in three women will be the victim of violence in her lifetime.  Girls are at increased risk for abuse, trafficking and rape, especially in conflict zones. 

But today, Congress has a chance to fight this gender-based violence. The House is considering The International Violence Against Women Act (HR 4594, S 2982), which would define a strategic foreign policy approach to combating violence against women and girls, including supporting programs to help victims. 

It's an amazing chance for girls around the world. But we need your help to get it passed.
