Multitasking is overated

Multitasking is overated
The Issue
New World Economy vs Human FactorReading news from the world, one cannot help but be overwhelmed. With a click, the exchange of information is instantenous and we can learn what is going on around the globe. We can also agree that majority of the news is not that good, hence overwhelming.
Opposing views/predictions of our political experts and economists confuse us even further as it would seem that nobody knows what is going to happen.
What do WE DO? Do we just go with the flow, wait it out, look to someone to deliver us a better tomorrow?...Or start engaging now, with the simple acts of kidness and acknowledgement of one another.
Lets stop multitasking so much--it is overated...as there is something to be said for looking somebody in the eyes while they are talking, thus acknowledging them instead of texting or doing other things at that moment. Go to any store and observe the check out line. How many customers go through it, talking on the phone, etc. without maintaining any eye contact with cashiers whose "Hello, How are you" goes completally ignored.
How can we possibly cultivate self-worth by excluding others?
New World Economy is emerging. Cosidering the state of "affairs" we no longer have the luxury of turning a blind eye or a death ear. We are forced to become our brothers keepers in order to restore the Human Factor.
