Support a Local Food Co-Op
You may know all about Food Co-Operatives, but in case you don't - you'll want to check this out. I didn't really understand how they work.
I want to tell you about one that I support that operates all over the Phoenix area. It is called Bountiful Baskets (www.bountifulbaskets.org). If you visit their web site, you'll know everything there is to know.
But here is the condensed version - for $16.50, you get approximately $50 of fresh produce. Pretty cool.
Just look at the photograph - that's a lot of produce we picked up Saturday for $16 bucks. I ordered it on Wednesday evening via their web site, on Saturday I left the house at 7:55 a.m., I picked it up at 8:00 a.m., and I was home at 8:05 a.m. Pretty cool.
If you'd like your food dollars to go further, if you know someone else who wants their food dollars to go further or if you want to volunteer with this organization - or all of the above, please visit their web site. It really is pretty cool!
This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible.

We picked up our fruit and vegetable baskets this Saturday, too. This is my third visit and we have not been disappointed. The produce is very fresh and affordable.
