Restore Education and State Funds to the Recovery Bill

The Issue

Obama's economic recovery plan has passed the Senate and is on its way to difficult House-Senate negotiations.

GOP Senators cut school renovation and construction funds from the plan, as well as $40 billion in one-time aid to states to help them meet their budgets for education, law enforcement, and other state services.

The House and Senate will now meet to re-negotiate a final bill, so now is the time to tell your congresspeople - both in the House and Senate - to restore the state aid and education funding the GOP Senators slashed from the plan.
