Join Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy's Fight to Ban High-Capacity Magazines
The Issue
Congress is considering a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines like the one used in the tragic shooting earlier this year in Tucson, Arizona. We need your help today to get these dangerous magazines off the streets.
H.R. 308, a bill introduced by Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy, would limit ammunition magazines to a 10-round maximum. A 10-round maximum is already the standard used in four states, and it used to be a national standard before Congress allowed the federal assault weapons ban to expire. Congresswoman McCarthy's bill also closes a gaping loophole that allows magazines manufactured before the ban to still be sold or transferred.
The 1,200-member Conference of Mayors and over 115 lawmakers in Congress have joined the fight to ban high-capacity magazines, but we need your help to keep the momentum going.
Take action today and tell Congress that you support the ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines.
