1. Academic boycotts strike at pluralist values, such as judging people based on academic merit alone. The SRC's support of BDS will go down as a stain on The University of Sydney's history.

2. Negotiations are the only way forward in resolving the Israeli/Arab conflict. There can be no solution without engagement and interaction to promote tolerance and understanding. An academic boycott achieves exactly the opposite.

3. The Technion is at the at the forefront of the world in medicine, sciences, engineering and technology. Universities in Australia should be promoting exchange with such instituions, with the shared view of bettering the world.
