New Downtown Ellensburg Business Organic Art Celebrates Art, Earth, and Fashion
Tucked away in the back of the B.F .Reed building in downtown Ellensburg, local entrepreneurs Brandon Foote, Casey Crookston, and Aaron Foote, are about to open one of downtown Ellensburg’s newest businesses, Organic Art.
Organic Art, located at 413 N Main Street, Suite E, opens this Friday October 2nd. And will be open 7 days a week 1:30 p.m. till 9 p.m. The shop will feature artist designed apparel made from organic fabrics such as hemp, bamboo, and cotton, with custom screen printing featuring local artists designs. In addition to clothing, Organic Art offers artwork, prints and other premium goods related to street fashion, art and culture. The shop will also feature gallery space for local artists and host special events to showcase local art, fashion, and music while building awareness for charitable non profit causes.
Co-owner Brandon Foote describes Organic Art, as “a new retail space devoted to selecting the finest in skate, streetwear and art-based clothing from around the North West and beyond. Many of our products are presented in organic materials such as hemp, bamboo and organic cotton, produced in limited quantities and displayed in a gallery setting.” Foote added that “We are striving to become a full scale gallery space that shows cutting edge streetwear designs along side original pieces of artwork. Art, Earth and Fashion, is our mission.”
The three co-owners see the shop as more than just a retail space, describing the venture as being a shop, a community, and a culture all in one location. Mirroring this social entrepreneurship philosophy, the store plans to donate 10% of all proceeds to local non profit organizations including, the Ellensburg Animal Shelter, the Red Cross, and Hope Source.
Organic Art will be hosting several special events this fall to introduce the business and build awareness for the non profits they’ll be supporting. The first of these events will be the “Kick Off the Movement” benefit concert on October 14th at Pink Catering featuring performances by local bands Ravinwolf, Eden, and Red Means Go, among others.
Organic Art is one of more than a dozen new business to open in downtown Ellensburg so far this year. “This is an exciting addition to downtown Ellensburg.” according to Ellensburg Downtown Association Director, Timothy Bishop.
