Learn more about the Peace Fellow's Program!

from Carla C.  Vline2  Nov 01, 2007

Under the program Fellows for Peace, AP recruits graduate students to volunteer with partners and help them apply AP’s model of information capacity-building.

The program is targeted at graduate students in the middle of their Masters program who will still benefit from the program in their second year of studies. We also hope that the experience of working side by side with human rights advocates will build leadership skills and a life-long commitment to human rights. This will prove particularly valuable to those pursuing a career in international development.

The number of Fellows recruited in any one year depends on AP’s own resources and our ability to service the program. Fellows are recruited in April and receive three days of training in Washington in May. This helps to prepare them for their assignments and, hopefully, acquire new skills. Training also covers the important issue of security.

Support volunteers for peace

from Mendi N.  Vline2  May 03, 2007

My nonprofit, The Advocacy Project (www.advocacynet.org) sends graduate students to intern with community based organizations all over the world. The work that our interns do is simply amazing. I believe that change is possible- and that you and I can make this change if we volunteer in the communities we live, work or shop in.

The change that I'm supporting is volunteerism. Please think of lending your efforts to the communities and causes you believe in.

Together we can make a difference.
