Perhaps there can be an end to animal’s greed but no end to human greed …………. n I don’t know of any initiative which is working in a organized manner to put an end to Human Greed ………….. though there were campaigns to eliminate polio / plague (successful) but Trafficking ( of Children n women ) is the worst form ( thought trafficking of men is also equally in human coz there children r left behind to live life of orphans). The evil nexus between mafia n systems managers needs to be checked n stern action taken against them. The governments must focus on the Social Development Aspect rather then on Economic Development ……… 10% of the GDP must be spent on Education n another 7 % on Health ( preventive as well ) n more attention must b given in the rural areas n urban slums ( for the developing countries ). The plight is that this Trafficking is considered to be a social stain on the community / family n thus there r attempts to cover it up n keep it hidden. Strong Community Groups must emerge with assistance form the Governments to eliminate such heinous crimes (including Child Labour ).

And there are more people enslaved *right now* than were enslaved in the entire 400-year history of the Atlantic Slave Trade.

The first chapter of the official book of the 'Amazing Change' campaign was enough to open my eyes to the vast reality of human trafficking happening around us. The value of human life is not even imaginable. Affluent western governments and business leaders need to implement strategies to stop human trafficking: right now.

It is so easy to go about our daily lives, enjoying our many freedoms and rights, without stopping to consider those who do not share in them. Most of us could easily live out our days without coming face to face with the ugliness of modern day human slavery. Yet if we do not confront it, who will, and if not now, when? These women and children have no other voice but ours; their own voices have been silenced, by the traffickers, by the johns, and by those who remain silent and do nothing. Every day we wait costs more innocent lives, and so I am compelled to do something, to do what I can to bring an end to this practice which psychologically and physically destroys so many beautiful young lives just beginning in the world. As children, how many of us read the stories of the abolitionists in the 1800's, and wondered what we would have done, if we would have had the foresight and courage to stand up for what was right? Well, we need not wonder, because it is no longer hypothetical; slavery is real, and it's here today, and we are all called to action now.
