Oil? Do We Still Use That?

I remember when, much to my surprise, I learned that coal is still one of the largest sources of energy for the United States. Coal?- didn't we finish with that in the 1800's? Call me impractical, call me insane, but let's take such a naive statement in stride and make it an attitude not only for coal but for oil. Disregard the costs; disregard the practicality; let's end not only our dependency on oil but our entire use of it. You have the power to create new power!

My support for this change is derived not so much from my concern for the environment, but from my knowledge that our current energy recourses are finite and quickly depleting. If we don't start implementing non-fossil fuels now our entire civilization could suffer irreparable damage.
