End the War in Iraq

- Mission:
- Calling for the withdrawal of US occupying forces in Iraq along with full support of independent Iraqi efforts to achieve peace and security

- Description:
- The Iraq War is one of the greatest foreign policy catastrophes in American history. The Bush administration used the false pretense of an imminent nuclear, chemical and biological weapons threat to deceive Congress into rationalizing this unnecessary conflict, which has now tragically claimed the lives of several thousand US troops, at least 100,000 Iraqi civilians, and caused the displacement of at least 2 million Iraqis. In addition, the war has cost US taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, has significantly weakened our military, and has worsened the threat of terrorism as anti-US sentiment increases each day the occupation continues. Thus, we encourage military disengagement from Iraq, beginning immediately, and we support the efforts of Iraqis to attai... Read more

This war was a mistake from the beginning. The troops have done everything we asked of them. It is well past time to bring them home. I would like to see an international solution to the crisis we have created in Iraq. It makes me angry when I think of the deceptions associated with this war--including, most prominently, the incorrect assertion that Saddam Hussein was connected with Al Qaeda. Saddam Hussein was evil, but there are other evil dictators around the world who we leave be (some, we ally with). I am afraid that we deal with the consequences of this war for years to come. The first step toward setting this right is removing our troops and ending the war.
Without the money to continue, there will be removal. Please sign!!

No: do not give Bush $102 billion more for Iraq and tell him to use existing funds to bring our troops safely home.

It's Difficult to Find Any Reason to Continue

If one accepted there is such a thing as a just war, it would still be nearly impossible to find a rational reason to continue American military involvement in Iraq. The supporters of this idiotic mistake have moved from reasons the war was started to reasons the war should continue, but it's still painful thinking of the time they must spend thinking up their excuses. Ending the war in Iraq will make the world better and safer, and that is a fact.
